How to know when to Use Footminders KIDS Orthotics for Children:
From the day they’re born, all children have flat feet. By the age of 4 or 5, the arches usually start to develop. However, with some children the feet remain flat, or with very low arches. It is important to point out that arch height is not actually the main concern in young children. It is more important to determine whether your child suffers from excessive pronation (rolling inward of the ankles). Overpronation is easily diagnosed. If you draw an imaginary line from the tip of the ankle bone downwards and the line ends away from the foot (see example to the right), your child overpronates and their feet need correcting.
